Skinny Fat Details:
Celebrity Joe Keery sporting (pics above) his genetic scientific Body Type Two (BT2) shape physique/figure while on vacation. The fully developed vertebrae (posture) and muscles/muscle mass are debatable. He is showing potential signs of skinny fat (lack of genetic muscle, IE thin fat, cellulite, normal weight obesity) on his love handles and lower back, indicating a possible underdeveloped lumbar vertebra or several, at least.
One pound of muscle burns six calories per day, but one pound of skinny fat/fat only burns two to three calories. Which directly affects metabolism (the more skinny fat and fat, the slower the metabolism). The mostly developed posture, muscles, and muscle mass across the majority of his BT2 is an advantage that Body Type Three (BT3) and Body Type Four (BT4) human bodies (male or female) generally lack.
Diet, exercise, lifestyle, metabolism, and BMI matter. But so do genes/genetics/DNA. As he continues to age, it will be interesting to see how well Joe Keery successfully maintains his body shape physique/figure. Is he really a Standard Body Type One (BT1)?
Bio:
Star Hollywood actor Joe Keery displays (pics above) his Body Type Two shape/figure/physique during his time off. Before high school, he began acting at the performing arts camp Theater in the Open in Maudslay State Park. With encouragement from his sister, he continued his thesbian pursuit while attending Newburyport High School. Matriculating at The Theatre School at DePaul University in Chicago, he graduated in 2014 with a BFA in acting.
In 2015, he landed his first television role on the USA Network comedy series Sirens. Paying his dues, diverse parts in the shows Chicago Fire (2015, NBC) and Empire (2015, FOX) led to his debut major motion part in the movie Henry Gamble’s Birthday Party (2015). Subsequently, he accepted his breakout role as Steve Harrington on the hit Netflix science-fiction show Stranger Things (2016-2025).
To date, his TV credits include recurring and main roles in the shows No Activity (2019-21, CBS) and Fargo (2023-24, FX), along with lending his voice to the 2025 PBS historical documentary The American Revolution. In terms of films, he has appeared in no less than The Charnel House (2016), Molly’s Game (2017), After Everything (2018), Slice (2018), Spree (2020), Death to 2020 (2020), Free Guy (2021), Death to 2021 (2021), Finalmente l’alba (2023), Marmalade (2024), Pavements (2024), and Cold Storage (2026).
Star Hollywood Actor and Musician Joe Keery Body Type Two
His music career began in his early 20s when he began making music under the stage name Cool Cool Cool. That was followed by him co-founding Post Animal in 2014, a psychedelic rock band. After releasing the extended plays (EP) Post Animal Perform the Most Curious Water Activities (2015) and The Garden Series (2016), as well as their debut full-length album When I Think of You in a Castle in 2018, he left the band to focus on acting. In 2019, he self-released the single Roddy under the stage name Djo, which culminated in him dropping his initial studio album Twenty Twenty.
So far, under the label Djo Music (via AWAL), he has released three studio albums including Decide (2022) and The Crux (2025). The song Chateau (Feel Alright) on Twenty Twenty went Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) Gold. The single End of Beginning off of Decide went 3x RIAA platinum while reaching number six on the U.S. Billboard 100 and peaking at Number One in Italy, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, no less. He also graced the Tame Impala music video for the song Loser and the video game Dead by Daylight. Joe Keery’s demanding acting and music careers, along with diet, exercise, and lifestyle choices, likely increase his metabolic rate, encouraging the burning of more calories and keeping any further excess regular fat weight at bay to maintain his physique.
